It's that time of year ... with college graduation the pool of job competitors just went from the kiddie pool to the deep end.
Well new grads, Laid-off Ladies, and those of you looking for new jobs ... don't panic just yet, because you have Laid-off Ladies on your side!
Get your résumé ready, set and go to Chicagojobresource.com.
The Website is a compilation of the who, what, when, where and whys for career fairs and open houses around the city.
Sometimes the career fairs are specific to certain job types, such as the Manor Care Therapy Open House at 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday. It will be at Panera Bread in the Chicago Ridge Westfield mall and some of the positions it will focus on are occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech language pathologists, etc. If you're interested, check out the site for more details.
Maybe your degree or experience isn't as specific and you're interested in more general positions. They have something for you, too! Also on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. you can visit the Oak Lawn Financial Center's open house if you're interested in positions in customer service or a position as a teller.
These are only a few examples of what Chicagojobresource.com has to offer.
The best way to stay above the curve is to follow Chicagojobresource.com on Twitter here. By following them on Twitter, you'll be able to see anytime they tweet about a new job fair in our area!
Don't let the graduates get you down or flustered. Stay calm, don't stress and make sure your résumé is in top form and you've got your power skirt steamed! Working world here you come!
Good luck!
